| Season on the line.
Lose this and we'll be 2 wins behind York with 8 games left. They won't let that slip and it will be another 3rd place finish at best (Oldham are very close to pushing us further down the table)
All the talk of "we'll fix the issues", "we care" needs to stop and the team stand up.
I know the likes of Mick will hark back to 2005. But that was a group of all time SL greats coming together for one last hurrah. Throw on one of SL's all time great centres coming back from long term injury. This team isn't that. I think the team will lose the fans, who's patience is at breaking point.
The issues we were told "we'll fix" weren't fixed for Hunslet. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in that the coaching team had a short turnaround so didn't have much time on the training field. But Okunbor frailing his arm out and knocking-on with no one within 20m of him isn't something you fix in training. It's a mentality issue and has been happening all year. Better teams punish us.
Hurrell did OK against Hunslet. But playing them on a small pitch masks his obvious failings. A good team like York on a wide pitch will expose those.
Maybe I'm being over negative but I honestly think it will be how much York beat us by rather than if we can win. Our seasons massively wobbled the last two months, York could provide the knock-out blow Sunday.
I'd love to be proved wrong

| I would just like to see us have a chance to compete with York without losing key players to major injuries or concussion during the match. Everyone says it evens out and/or it’s an adversity to overcome. York are playing well, we don’t need additional in-game adversity.

| I would love us to win this one and keep up the pace with York and Toulouse but York are the form team at the moment and I can't see anything other than a comfortable York win.
It'll take a mammoth effort from our boys to get the win. I hope the squad make me eat my words come Sunday evening.

As it is we'll end up with Hallas at hpoker for some of the game I reckon. Sure Hurrell will be a weak link on a bigger pitch but I think we're also more fluent in attack away from home.

| I don't buy in to the make or break element to this game.
Lose (which seems fairly likely) and it doesn't mean the season is over, we can still work toward a big end of season finale. The season is over when we lose in the play-offs. Win and likewise it doesn't make us champions, it's a building block to the play-off series. Likely we'll face York in those again too.
I agree it has been a disappointment on the field given the last two seasons and positive recruitment for this year.
However, 3 x 3rd place finishes if nothing else is consistent and we have been crying out for a move away from boom - bust - boom - bust.
Other facets to the club and running of it suddenly take on equal importance alongside the playing element, so maybe slow and steady wins the race to SL?

I'd love it to be true but I just can't see how we recover if we lose this. The frustration of the fans was clearly bubbling during the Hunslet game. I thought the body language of the players looked worrying. Certainly didn't look like a team that wanted to right a few wrongs. Barrow got pumped against Featherstone this week. That shows how far off the pace we are. The last two years have shown how much of a disadvantage going to Toulouse in the play-offs is. This was the year we got them to come to us. But we've blown so many opportunities. We just haven't proven in any big game we're capable of coming out the right side of these games. If results go a certain way, we could find ourselves 4th come 5pm Sunday. I just think psychologically losing to York 3 times, along with the other big games is too big of a disappointment for this to group to overcome.

| Well York are a much better side than us this year. Better drilled and tougher up the middle. In the games we've played against them we've lost up front and then tried to take the easy option and been punished each time. They have the balance perfect with the ability to do the tough stuff but then have a really slick end to their sets - we can do that occasionally but we often have a really scruffy end to our sets. As a result we don't keep sides under pressure. If I see us hand the ball over on the 6th again I'll do myself a mischief - it's just so poor.

| I wouldn’t say better, I would say fewer injuries overall, fewer injuries during games and therefore more consistent.

| I think I'm correct in saying we lost by 8 points in the cup and 2 points in the league? Very frustrating, disappointing etc but not a million miles off. I totally agree that York are the form team and our play both defensively and in attack is lacking something but a win is not beyond this group of players. Having said that i expect a loss, but the last two games v York I expected a win, so hopefully I'm wrong for the third time. Regardless I'll be making the trip over because if we manage to upset the form book it'll be bloody brilliant.

| Oh I'll definitely be there. Just a bit concerned that our form has dipped and we've made hard work of beating Hunslet and Batley so we'll need to raise our game significantly.
