Unless Goole were physically unable to stage the game because of building works/safety regulations, I'm a bit concerned that the decision to switch it will back-fire. And that it will be an even lower attendance, than if it had gone ahead in Goole. We've only got the East Stand open, so it's not like you can go and stand in your favourite place on the North or West terrace anyway.
I think loads of us would've gone to Goole for the novelty of a new ground, and a day out. Whereas now, lots might give the home game a miss, and save our pennies for Leeds away, and the home games v Hull KR and St Helens. I hope I'm wrong ...
Yesterdays attendance was announced as 2032. Fairly decent, all things considered.
What I don't understand, however, is that on the web site it indicated that about 200 more tickets than that had been sold.
(I had counted them up a couple of hours before KO. Yeah I know, a pretty sad statto thing to do, but I was twiddling my thumbs waiting for the Halifax match to start!)
I don't think any of the tickets were included "free" in season ticket packages, so I don't really understand the discrepancy. No big deal in the scheme of things; just a bit puzzling.
