The South Stand is unreserved, therefore has to be kept 10% empty. The Hudds game had all available tickets sold days before the game.



If the unreserved stand was completely sold out (5,500 seats), and you were the late and the last to find your seat, how would you find that one empty seat?? It would be a nightmare for the stewards!!It's different for the East & West stands as they have row and seat numbers on them, making it easy to locate your seat.

Just on this. If Wigan's average attendances increased towards the 20k over the next few years (doubt it, but you never know), then the Wigan club would have to seriously have to consider changing the South stand to reserved seating, thus allowing them to sell to 100% capacity.

just to put a small dampner on the sales front and as leyther Matt continues to say not all unavailable seats are sold seats. If I am correct this is being shown in 3D and due to the size of the cameras I think you will find that 2 blocks in the East and west stand have not nbeen sold around the 30 metre lines accouting for aprox 1000 unsold but unavailable seats.

will be on Leeds say so that the prices are put on....as you can pay on the day for 18in the north and south. East stand is 19.

The North Stand costs the same as the East this season after some clubs complained that they weren't being offered tickets at the £18/£12 bracket when the North Stand was closed for certain games.

stinks really as they are being penalized for being away fans as home fans behind the sticks get a cheaper rate.

South Stand is now sold out for tonights game.

They say that nearly every week yet I bet there were 1000 empty seats last week. I think they should relax that requirement to leave 500 unsold, especially at this time of year when you'll always get some season ticket holders who aren't at the game because they are away on holiday. The club are probably losing money doing it the way they do. I know some tight wads who when they see the South Stand Sold Out notices give up and don't want to pay any extra for the other stands.

It's probably about time the club think about changing the South Stand to reserved seating. How many would be okay with sitting in the same seat every match? Wouldn't bother me!

I'd be happy about it as I could choose a good seat in the middle and have a pint in the bar until 5 mins before kick off.

I used to sit in the south stand. The reason I moved was due to all the messing around with seats and if you're a touch late , you end up sat in the corners and so on...

Never seen the point in unreserved seating TBH. I dont see hardly any advantages to it at all.

Totally disagree! I believe unreserved seating gives people the option to sit where they like in the South stand if they come early

Unreserved in the South is better. Normally about 8 of us for home matches but for the Huddersfield game some friends wanted to come and we bumped into more friends at the ground an hour before kick off. 14 of us in the end and we all managed to sit together and had a goood night. Couldn't do that if it was reserved seating. I do feel they however there is scope to leave less unsold seats than they do at present.

I honestly don't think the unsold seats is a major issue as their are still plenty seats available in the East & West stands which don't cost that much more. If the ground was selling out almost every game then I think the club would relax the 10% unsold ticket allocation rule.



We always get to the ground early (which can be inconvenient sometimes due to work) so I can see the advantages of reserved seating in the South Stand, however, when it's dry my kids like to sit near the front but obviously when wet we sit in the middle so unreserved seating also has it's advantages.

Because all season tickets sold count as a seat sold for all games. Wigan can't know if someone is on holiday, sick, stuck in traffic, at work etc so they can't resell those seats. The South Stand is unreserved seating so is limited to around 90% of the actual number of seats (around 500)



I expect that there are only around 1000 seats available for general sale at all Wigans home games, I'm sure LM will have the exact figure.

i see your point rogues, but i dont think 1,000 season ticket holders went AWOL last week.

At least 500 have to be left empty.

The figure is generally in the thousands that don't turn up each week for the entire stadium, so when you consider that 500 of this theoritical 1,000 can never be sold anyway then it's quite feasible that 500 people won't be using their match/season tickets for one reason or another.



There are roughly 850 seats that are available for general sale in the South Stand for each game.
