Every team in every league at every level should be going all out to perform to the best of their ability, regardless of the 'prize' on offer.

Widnes are doing precisely that. This is why they are losing. The reason is not because they are coasting but because, over a period of years, the club has recruited poor coaches and, as a result, poor players too. This happens to all clubs at some stage - good or bad.
