Round nineteen of the Kingstone Press Championship saw a full set of Sunday afternoon games with the tie of the round being the trip of third placed Featherstone Rovers to second spot London Broncos.

The runaway leaders Hull KR were away at Sheffield Eagles while fifth placed Halifax would have been hopeful of two points at Swinton.

Elsewhere Dewsbury entertained high-flying Toulouse, the Batley Bulldogs were at Rochdale Hornets and the Bulls were looking to finally get to zero points with a home game against Oldham.

In the big game in London the Broncos took the two points off Featherstone Rovers in a crucial meeting at the Trailfinders. The visitors had taken a 12-0 lead with tries from Baldwinson and Taulapapa before Gee and Barthau struck back for London for 12-10. Mariano made it 18-10 for the visitors but a second Barthau four-pointer reduced the arrears to just two points at the break. Bostock further extended the lead on forty-seven which Featherstone held going into the last ten minutes. Dixon, Kearney and Pitts all scored in a five minute spell from the seventy-third minute to devastate Rovers and take a 36-24 lead and although Wildie scored a minute from time the Broncos held on.

It was an easy win for the league leaders Hull KR who raced to a 24-0 interval lead thanks to tries from Carney, Clarkson, Butler-Fleming, Scruton and Shaw. Minchella grabbed Sheffield's first on forty-three before Lunt, Carney and Dockar-Clay put the result way beyond any doubt for 40-6. Late consolations for Trout and Johnson were too little, too lat for a final scoreline of 40-18.

Performance of the afternoon came from the Dewsbury Rams who stunned Toulouse with a 34-22 win. Walshaw had opened the scoring for Dewsbury but two tries from Macron put the French side 12-8 ahead at the break. Curran extended the lead to 16-8 before four tries in a ten minute spell from Walshaw, Hallett, Brown, and Sheriffe for 32-16. Sykes added a penalty for the Rams before Macron completed his hat-trick for Toulouse who registered their sixth defeat of the season while Dewsbury finished the weekend in tenth spot.

Halifax were looking for two points to keep up their challenge for a top four spot and the middle eights but they were thwarted by a dogged performance from the Swinton Lions. Davies and Robinson had given the Lions a 10-0 half-time lead but when Cahalane and Wood both scored converted tries before the hour mark for a 12-10 lead the home side must have feared the worst. Atkin kicked a sixty-seventh minute penalty to level the scores before adding a drop goal on seventy-two to take the win and lift his side to ninth in the table.

The boot of Patrick Walker turned out to be the difference for the Batley Bulldogs who secured a 24-14 win over the Rochdale Hornets. Galbraith had given the Hornets the lead early on before Gledhill and Ainscough edged the Bulldogs into a 12-4 lead. Ecclestone scored just before the interval to narrow the arrears to six points. A converted try By Middlehurst on fifty-four levelled the scores at 14-14 but a Leak try and three Walker goals sealed the win for the Bulldogs.

The loudest cheers of the day was heard in Bradford where the Bulls finally returned to zero league points after their pre-season twelve point deduction as they registered their sixth win of the season in a comprehensive manner over Oldham. A first half Ryan hat-trick and a Bentley try along with two conversions and a Thomas drop goal gave the Bulls a 21-0 interval lead. Ryan added a fourth and Chamberlain and Mendeika both scored to put the Bulls 35-0 ahead before Gee and Hewitt scored for Oldham to get them into double figures. Bentley and Chamberlain both grabbed second tries in the dying minutes to seal an emphatic 47-12 win.
